Bonner Springs was just another typical small rural wide spot in the road in northeastern Kansas between Lawrence and Topeka in the 1950s. Following World War II, the residents there, just as much of the rest of America, were trying to put the conflict behind them and go back to a regular life.

Dr. William Crisp and his wife, Rebecca, came to town for a lot of the same reasons that made them who they were from childhood: rural and easy-going. Dr. Crisp was the town physician running his practice out of their home while Rebecca took care of their son, Charlie. Rebecca had endured a horrific experience as a little girl, and by virtue of that fact, she and William went a bit overboard in trying to create a protective shell around Charlie.

With no warning, and at the total shock and dismay of the Bonner Springs community, Charlie Crisp walked calmly out behind the house one morning and hung himself. The home was abandoned and time passed, but as is often the case in such things, stories soon spread that the ghost of Charlie Crisp still lived in and around his boyhood home and as the legend grew so did the inability to sell the lovely cottage just off the main drag in town.

Years later, Matt and Darby Crawford and their two children, Melody, age 19, and Jasper, age 12, were living an idyllic life in Bonner Springs. And for a time, all was well. Matt worked as a writer, while Darby continued to build her own business. The kids were off to school, and it was all they had dreamed of. But when Melody begins to hear strange creaking and groaning sounds around the house at night, accompanied by phantom footsteps, she suspects all may not be as idyllic as they had hoped for.

Is Melody onto something or is it as she fears that she may be losing her mind and just imagining it all? Could it be that the house actually is a harbor for the legend that has survived among Bonner Springs’ residents for over sixty years? Take a trip along with Melody Crawford as she digs into her fears and anxiety to try and find the truth…

Whitby, England has one unique structure that makes it stand out amongst the rest, known as the Crooked Cottage. The cottage has been there for as long as anyone in Whitby can remember and has stood at this crazy angle to the horizon of the North Sea.

Its most recent owner, Cecilia Adams, a home-town girl, had lived there for years. Cecilia was not what you would call warm and welcoming, at least according to her neighbors, but neither was she nasty nor mean. However, she had made it clear that she preferred her privacy, and everyone in Whitby just let her be writing it off to eccentricity.

That is until her two nephews, Ted and Josh, and niece, Alice, came to live with her after their family in the south just fell apart. Whitby residents were shocked to see her take them in with open arms and soon her own personality seemed to turn on a dime as well, often waving happily to those she had previously had no time for. But then one day, the brief reprieve in Alicia’s countenance went south.

On a rainy fall night, Alice came to the kitchen of the cottage to find her Aunt Alicia unconscious in a pool of blood, apparently having tried to commit suicide. The background remained a mystery, but the fallout was that the children were removed to three separate foster homes, Alicia was committed to an asylum, and the Crooked Cottage went dark.

Years went by, and adult Alice, Ted, and Josh received letters from a solicitor informing them that their aunt had died and had named as joint owners of the Crooked Cottage. They had all just about forgotten about the little home in Whitby as they had all gone their own ways with new lives and interests. But the chance to reunite again was enough to bring the siblings back to Whitby again to figure out what to do with their unexpected windfall.

However, once they came home, new information and strange occurrences suddenly came to light, making them realize the Crooked Cottage might not have been the idyllic place they remembered from their childhood. Both Ted and Josh make discoveries that cause them to wonder if some sort of paranormal force might be at play. Alice refuses to buy into their ghost theory, yet struggles to overcome her bad memories of having been the one to find Cecilia that night long ago.

Are Ted and Josh right about the cottage being haunted? Or are they just letting their imaginations run wild as Alice tries to tell them? And once they dig deeper into the situation, is it possible that their Aunt Cecilia was not the person they had thought? Come along with our adventurous trio as they try and distinguish reality from imagination.

Welcome to Daucourt Mansion, one of these lesser-known haunted residences, located just a couple hours northwest of New Orleans in the town of St. Francisville.

A man named Charles Wilder is supposedly responsible for the dark background of the mansion. Wilder, while a prominent and respected businessman of his day, had a personal proclivity for women outside his marriage to his wife, Suzanne. Among his dalliances, was a young slave girl named Corrie. After Suzanne found out about her husband’s adultery, she took her own life and from that day forward, Daucourt Mansion was the home to a variety of resident spirits according to local lore.

Word of this legend reached The Elkton Ghost Hunters, a trio consisting of Sabrina, Josh, and Wendy. They were looking to expand their business outside of Indiana, and the tales associated with Daucourt Mansion seemed to be exactly what they were looking for. With the urging of a local self-proclaimed psychic and witch, Glory Trevil, the trio set off for St. Francisville to do their own investigation.

Come along as the black history of Daucourt Mansion comes alive for the Elkton Ghost Hunters, making them wonder if, in fact, they have gotten in over their heads at last. The psychic/witch Glory Trevil seems to have misrepresented many facets of the house and why she urged them to arrive, and as the dominos begin to fall over, Sabrina’s team may be in peril.

Can they resolve the danger they have fallen into before it becomes lethal to one or more of them? Has Glory Trevil’s agenda and what she had hidden from them presented an even greater hazard? And is it possible that the ghost they came to document is just the tip of the iceberg in the legendary mansion?

Against all advice from his colleagues and friends, an enterprising man by the name of Milton Barkley launched The Regent Theatre as a venue for live theatre, music and more in the village of Swinson in England. It took a bit for it to gain traction, but soon the owners of the surrounding businesses that had ridiculed Barkley had changed their tune. The main attraction at the theatre was a woman named Rosalva. She was exotic-looking and talented beyond anyone the area had ever know of. Her background was unknown, and she refused to make this known, using the mystery of her roots to market herself as a performer.

But one night an awful accident occurred during one of Rosalva’s shows and even though she survived the trauma, it was soon realized she would never perform again. Once Rosalva was no longer at The Regent, its popularity and cachet faded away as well. Like dominos, once the theatre declined so did Swinson, and it soon reverted to the same status it had had before the rise of The Regent. Once her performing career was no longer an option, Rosalva too could not go on, and she was found one evening on the old stage of the decaying and decrepit theatre dead of an apparent overdose of pills. It was the final nail in the coffin of The Regent, killing off any ideas that might have been bandied about in hopes of revitalizing the old show hall. The one remaining legacy was that Rosalva still lingered in the halls and on the stage of The Regent…a tortured and troubled spirit entity unable to completely let go of her once enormous fame.

Over time, Swinson did begin to emerge from its recent setback, and in 2017, Darren Lynch along with a group of investors saw the old Regent’s empty husk and decided to try and breathe new life into it as The Swinson Review. It was a very slow process, as the legend of Rosalva still clung to the location making people wary of returning. It was at this point that Amy Roberts, a local Swinson girl, returned to her hometown after a failed attempt to make it in the professional ranks of London theatre. Ashamed and dejected, Amy took a job with Lynch working as an usher in hopes of saving up enough money to one day take another crack at the big city lights. Sophia Lester, a new arrival in town joined Amy as the sole staff of The Review selling tickets and helping Lynch to market the new venue.

Amy and Sophia developed a friendship, based somewhat on a mutual defense against the often drunken and seemingly always womanizing Lynch. However, when a touring drama company made a deal to use The Review as a test stage for an upcoming national and hopefully international tour, their friendship was challenged as Sophia was selected over Amy to fill in for an ailing actress. Amy once again felt the sting of rejection but soon threw it off as she was put in charge of what was billed as “A Haunted Evening” at The Review with a local paranormal enthusiast, Malcolm Peters. He was hoping to elicit the spirit of Rosalva and maybe more from The Review as a launching board for his own business interests as a medium and paranormal expert. During his show, Amy fell into a trance and was injured by some falling equipment over the stage. The audience assumed it was part of Peters’ show, but he knew better, and his concern grew over Amy’s condition as she recovered from a concussion. He was sure her accident intervening in the middle of his efforts to contact and present the specter of Rosalva to his audience might have comingled. To everyone’s shock and delight, when Amy came to rehearsals now, her voice was improved exponentially.

Did in fact what Malcolm Peters feared actually happen? Has Amy been possessed or at least partially comingled with the spirit of the diva, Rosalva? Or is there something else going on that might explain Amy’s sudden improvement in her singing? Has the spiritual Rosalva found a new home to continue her lost fame and attention? And if so, what does this mean for Amy?

The Yorkshire Dales is a bucolic and beautiful place where to some degree time has maybe not stopped, but at least slowed down as the rest of the world has continued to grow and get more congested and “modern.” It is in the wilds of the Dales that a small village, Abberfield, lies and is as representative of the area as any other small hamlet. The mostly agricultural township does, however, have a story that a lot of locals there would just assume you not ask about and if you should happen to be privy to it to keep it to yourself.

In the mid-1800s, a small chapel was erected by the Church of England (COE) at the special request of the residents, and for many years was the sole place of worship for them. But in 1935, a horrific fire swept through the church killing a number of its parishioners that became trapped inside. The tragedy struck at the hearts of the townsfolk, and the church was shuttered, never again to be used based on the grief and sorrow associated with it. The COE never tried to do anything more with the structure, leaving it as it had been after the fire, and building a new structure closer to town. The residents appreciated the gesture looking upon the old church as both part memorial for their lost friends and partly due to a legend that began to spread about a possible haunting of the chapel.

And so, it remained virtually abandoned and crumbling until 2015, when an independent builder, Darren Baker, was made aware of it from a colleague. He and his wife, Louise, along with their two children, Ava, age five and Logan, age two, were looking to depart the hustle and bustle of the city for a more rural location and better place to raise their family. Darren and Louise struck a deal with the COE to purchase the old place which came along with an extensive bit of acreage with the idea of renovating the old church into a private home to allow them their dream of rural life. Though the deal they negotiated with the COE seemed too good to be true, neither Darren nor Louise thought much more of it and moved ahead with their plans. It had been obvious that a fire had at one time torched the old church, but they had no idea of the details.

However, no sooner than they had arrived at the site, living in a caravan camper while they renovated the church, a myriad of events began to come flying at them relentlessly. An odd assortment of bibles and crosses appeared inside the caravan – one of the bibles was even charred as if to remind them of the fire. The interior of the church was infested with thousands of bats. Building material went vandalized and tossed about. Both Ava and Logan began to undergo personality changes that seemed to coincide with their arrival. All of this on top of the board of Abberfield making it clear that they did not approve of this renovation. An unknown man from town then arrives to offer to buy back the church from them for more than they originally paid. And Logan comes home telling of a new mysterious friend that he has made in town.

As even more strange events continue to pile up, Louise begins to think there may be something more sinister going on associated with the old church than anyone in town is willing to talk about. This comes to a head when she gets the real story from a property manager in town who gave her the details of the legend associated with the old Abberfield Church and the rumors of the man called just “Malcolm.” However, Darren has his heart set on finishing up the renovation despite all the “tall tales” the locals are feeding Louise.

Are the locals just “telling tales out of school” to scare them off because they are new to town? Or has Louise stumbled onto something more serious and perhaps true despite the supernatural element that she really does not buy into in general? Can Louise convince Darren that they may be in real danger or is she just letting her imagination run wild?
